As part of the Product Development & Market Access Consulting group at Covance by Labcorp, you will support the statistical needs of prospective and retrospective real-world observational studies in the US and Europe. Your primary responsibility will be to contribute to the study design/protocol, support the development of the statistical analysis plan, and contribute to the interpretation of results for the study report. You will learn from highly-experienced biostatisticians and also work closely with a group of highly-experienced and efficient SAS programmers. As a contributor to the design and analysis of real-world observational studies, you will also have an opportunity to participate in the development of publications (abstracts, posters, manuscripts).
The Senior Manager, Biostatistician generally manages real-world evidence (RWE) client engagements, directing the collection and analysis of primary and secondary data and formulating strategic advice for clients. This individual is responsible for prepareing statistical analysis plans, overseeing SAS programmers, and preparing results sections of reports and publications.

  • Understand Client Requirements: Participates in defining how the assignment will be performed and the deliverables that will be presented by the company.
  • Supervise Data Collection and Analysis: Identifies sources and obtains information from knowledgeable individuals, reference texts, on-line databases, and other research sources. Evaluates data using quantitative methods as necessary to allow appropriate inferences and conclusions to be drawn.
  • Review Analysis: Reviews quantitative analysis, programming, or data management activities to ensure accuracy, completeness, and consistency with goals and objectives of the project.
  • Review Summaries: Reviews and advises on analyses of key points, patterns, and trends found in data.
  • Develop Findings and Recommendations: Assists in using information and data to prepare specific findings and recommendations, which are appropriate to client requirements.
  • Interface with Internal Project Management and Client: May meet with client to review work plan, schedule meetings, describe data sources, explain patterns observed in data, and indicate how findings and recommendations were developed.
  • Prepare and Present Deliverables: Prepares written memos, correspondence, and reports; conducts in-person presentations for clients.
  • Generate Repeat Business: Establishes business relationship with clients that results in repeat business for the Company.
  • Train and Mentor Staff: Act as a mentor to less experienced consulting staff, orienting them on company policies and career development objectives.
Minimum required:

The Senior Manager, Biostatistician typically holds a doctoral degree in biostatistics from an outstanding program at a distinguished university.
Minimum required:
The Senior Manager, Biostatistician typically has seven or more years of successful relevant observational research and/or consulting experience at Covance by Labcorp or in a similar environment and meets the performance criteria outlined by Covance by Labcorp.
